As Hurricane Melissa brings severe weather to the region, Irie Mobility Jamaica is focused on safety and clear communication while continuing to support our community and travelers.


What's happening right now

  • ✈️ All airports in Jamaica are closed as of 8:00 PM local time, Saturday, October 25, until further notice.

  • 🌧️ Periods of heavy rain and strong winds will affect road conditions and deliveries. Safety is our number one priority.


For clients with upcoming reservations

  • Free date changes: You can reschedule your reservation dates at no charge once conditions improve.

  • How to reschedule: Contact us via WhatsApp/Phone or Email (details below) with your reservation reference number.


For clients unable to depart the island

  • Flexible extensions: We are aware of the airport closure effective as of 8:00 pm local time on Saturday October 25, 2025. We have flexible extension options and to help with unplanned changes to keep you supported.

  • No stress: We’ll walk you through options for extra days, alternative delivery/pick-up locations (where safe), and billing clarity.


For our team and affiliates

Your safety comes first. Please follow official guidance, check-in with your supervisor, and prioritize shelter and family needs. We’ll coordinate operations and updates via our internal channels.


Operations status

  • Client Support: Open and responsive (may operate with adjusted staffing during peak weather).

  • Deliveries & Pickups: Conditions are being monitored and service suspension may occur. If suspension occurs, we will not resume until conditions improve and authorities say it’s safe. Some delays or rerouting may occur may also occur.

  • Communication: We’ll share updates on our website, social media, SMS/WhatsApp, and email.

FAQs

  • Can I reschedule for free? Yes. Pending reservations can be moved to new dates at no charge. Share your reservation reference and preferred dates.

  • I’m stuck on island, how do I extend my rental? Message us with your location and how many extra days you need. We’ll confirm availability, extension terms, and next steps.

  • Will deliveries/pickups still happen? Where it’s safe and permitted, yes. If conditions prevent service, we’ll rebook the earliest safe slot.

  • Is my equipment insured? Standard rental terms apply. The equipment remains your responsibility and if you are unsure of what steps to take contact us.
